We are very excited to share the news that Lakeside received its third redesignation as a Schools to Watch accolade. Lakeside has been part of the Schools To Watch recognition and improvement program since the 2014-2015 school year. Each “Schools to Watch” school was selected by state leaders for its academic excellence, its responsiveness to the needs and interests of young adolescents, and its commitment to helping all students achieve at high levels. In addition, each school has strong leadership, teachers who work together to improve curriculum and instruction, and a commitment to assessment and accountability to bring about continuous improvement.

One example of responsiveness to student needs is our innovative Lakeside Robotics club called MasterPiece. Our Robotic students participated in robotics competitions since the fall of 2023 and received recognition for their hard work, as well as teacher leader accolades. Lakeside prides itself on offering our students not only an academically rigorous curriculum and student achievement recognition program but opportunities for extracurricular activities. Our students have been able to participate in student achievement recognition assemblies and after-school sports programs such as basketball and clubs through our Think Together program. During the school day lunchtime activities are provided with our WEB and ASB programs and Kindness challenges. Our performing arts programs shine at assemblies and performances with our feeder high school, Santa Fe HS.

Lakeside offers our students an opportunity to participate in our Washington, DC trip. Students travel with Lakeside teachers to experience history first hand! Lakeside truly offers our students a wide range of experiences to make their educational exposure well-rounded in preparation for high school and beyond. We are so thankful for our hard-working staff, and the support of our district personnel and board members to be able to offer our students so much variety at Lakeside.
