Under the direction of Sonya Cuellar, Personnel Services oversees the hiring and evaluation of the District’s 475 employees. The Assistant Superintendent of Personnel Services is responsible for disciplinary matters and serves as the District’s chief negotiator for certificated and classified negotiations. Personnel Services oversees teacher credentialing and certification, as well as the implementation of certain provisions of No Child Left Behind, the federal legislation shaping all reform efforts around the state and nation. Finally, the Assistant Superintendent of Personnel Services advises the Superintendent on personnel-related matters, and implements the Board’s personnel practices.
